# Name and Legend👽

PLANTON is not just a play on words from "PLAN" and "TON". In the CIS, "PLAN" is associated with weed and also with a plan of action. We found this amusing and fitting for our project. Additionally, PLANTON sounds like "Plankton" from the cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants", and we used this image for our project's graphics, adding a joint in his mouth and hands.

Initially, we planned the project to ensure the name included "TON". TON is currently a very important digital currency, strongly supported by developers (whom we enthusiastically back and support in their efforts to develop and enhance the Telegram ecosystem) and highly loved by the community.

We considered various names and ideas, ranging from questionable to brilliant:

* **Photon (4TON)**: The idea initially seemed promising, but we couldn't find suitable graphic solutions or development paths. We toyed with the idea of creating a Telegram app where users would collect elementary particles across the universe map and discover new ones (photon, proton, neutrino, etc.), but we didn't see further potential in this concept.
* **Newton (NewTon)**: The idea was quickly discarded. We felt that the "old" TON is already a great brand, and a new "Newton" wouldn't bring the desired effect.
* **Krypton**: The name perfectly combined a reference to cryptocurrency and TON itself. However, for some reason, we rejected it right away – it just didn’t resonate with us.

Then we arrived at the idea of "Platon". Yes, Plato is a great philosopher and a powerful, recognizable brand worldwide. But something was missing. The name was too serious and didn't convey the brightness and fun we wanted to bring to our community.

And then the idea of "Plankton" emerged. This was the right direction! Plankton from "SpongeBob" is an excellent character from a super popular cartoon, and it immediately brought a smile. But wait, that token already exists :( What to do? To give it a unique and fitting look for our project, we decided to tweak it a bit:

* Added a joint in his mouth to emphasize our connection with the legalization culture and give the character a special charm.
* Removed the "K" from the name to create a more playful and memorable name.

And that's how PLANTON was born – a fun, bright, and unique character that perfectly fits our ideology and concept.
